Glycated Haemoglobin Test or HbA1C
The A1c test is highly preferred since the test gives information on average blood sugar for the past 3 months. It also give information on the amount of haemoglobin is attached to sugar or glucose.
American Diabetes Association, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes and the International Diabetes Federation recommends that the HbA1C test be the primary test used to diagnose prediabetes, type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
HbA1c test also gives an overview of how well your treatment is progressing. Higher the HbA1c level, higher the risk of developing complications that arises due to Diabetes
