Creatinine Blood Test
Creatine is found in the muscles and Creatinine is a waste product that is formed when Creatine breaks down. Kidneys eliminate Creatinine from the blood and hence any abnormality recorded in the test result is indicative of a Kidney disorder.
Creatinine is performed in combination with other tests like BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) and is used largely as a screening test. Your doctor may order the test if you present symptoms of Kidney Disorders. Kidney dysfunction also leads to a wide variety of diseases such as pyelonephritis, kidney stones, prostrate diseases etc.
